If you have 12" high grass you have a couple of different ways to go. You can either cut more often with a conventional self propelled mower or a good Walk Behind like the ones below either of these will will take down your 12" grass and even with these you should mow more often

Exmark is just about the same mower. The spec's on it and the Toro are real close.

If you're going to buy a commercial self propelled mower Honda makes one of the best in the $800 range. If you really want to spend the money I'd buy the Toro 30" Turf Master, That's what I hope too buy in the next couple of months...

The Z force 48 is now listed as one of there low end commercial mowers, it took the place of the Cub Cadet Recon I believe.

Yeah Craftsman are a cheap mower, there parts are cheap and easy to get, ever ask yourself why? The Thing about buying any mower whether it's a Craftsman, a Toro, a Hustler or what ever brand you want is that YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.
