I bought a brand new mower deck, which came with a new belt and now the blades won't fully disengage...especially when I raise the deck - the higher I raise it the faster the blades spin - like the tension is never completely off. Is this a blade brake problem or is there some kind of adjustment...

John Deere 125 riding mower. I just replaced the deck with a new one. Exactly the same setup as the old one. For some reason the blades are not fully disengaging now. The engage / disengage lever is moving harder than it used to. I'm wondering if it's just that there's a new belt that will...
