Ww. I've never done that many. I usually keep 8-10 sets on hand, as I change my blades almost every day. Catch up on sharpening and balancing about once a week. Found Forney on Amazon, and also some Dewalt 36 grit. Gonna order a couple of each and see how they work.

I agree about 40 vs 60, but they didn't have any 40 grit, and believe it or not, the Dewalt 60 cut faster than the off brand 40 grit from Amazon. Don't get me wrong, the off brand did work, but they glazed over too fast, making 75-80% of the disc unusable. I'll look for Dewalt 40 grit online.

Roger on the glazing. The flapper discs work very well, cuts fast, but the glazing only let's me use about 20% of the disc. What grinding discs do you use ? I tried a metal grinding disc, but it glazed also and didn't do a good job.

A friend also questioned the bargain discs, altho they seem hefty enough. And yes, glazing is a better word for it. They don't gum up, the ends of the flaps just glaze over and don't wear down. I wonder if they have ceramic flapper discs ? Time to surf the internet some. Thanks for the reply.

Bet you a lot of money the blades are not balanced. New blades are never balanced by the makers. A friend of mine had the same issue with a brand new mower. I balanced the blades for him, and then it was smooth as silk.

Kawasaki has an issue with some of their engines with too much wire between the battery and the solenoid JD has a fix kit (AM107421) that utilizes a relay to bypass. Had to use it two of Ferris mowers with Kaw motors.

I think I understand what you are saying. I'll check that measurement next time I have one apart. But I think the bearings are tight and have to be pressed in, but will see. If one will slide on by hand, I will be able to measure. No way to measure once together.

Not sure what you mean by pushing the outer race with fingers. I use my shop press to disassemble and reassemble. Attached is the spindle parts, nothing complicated.

Good morning. The spindle would rattle, be loose. I could feel the roughness in the deck lift pedal. After disassembling, the bearing are very loose. I'm using Briggs & Stratton parts, proper part number. Sealed on one side, sealed side installed to the outside, just like the original.

I have an FT730V that had a similar problem. Discovered the cooling fins were about 50% clogged with dirt and grass. My bad for not seeing that sooner. Anyway, cleaned them, and replaced the temperature sensor (EFI engine). No more an issue. Don't forget to check the fins inside the shroud.
