We took the back screws out and yes there is a snap ring there. Just sent for spring loaded pliers to remove. Should pop out now. Thanks for responding

I have a GRasshopper riding mower that needs the shaft on the rear back tire replaced as the threaded part broke off. I have found a new part on line but having difficult time removing the old shaft. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Part # 4
