I’ve replaced the two be,ts with John Deere belts. When I went to adjust them the spring was completely loose, nut was tight and I’m at a loss what to do except put washers behind spring so it will tighten up enough to allow it to give the belts the correct 3/4” slack. Any thoughts?

Does anyone have anything showing how levers these should go together or could take a picture of theirs? I took mine apart without taking a picture and am questioning myself as to how the thrust plates are supposed to be exactly. Thanks in advance!
