SOLVED Ignition switch. Went back to the old switch and tested it. Sprayed electronic cleaner on the terminals and in the key hold and moved the key through all positions a bunch. Still a little touchy at times, but have ordered a new one. Thanks for the help everyone.

Went through and checked the ignition, PTO, seat, fuses, regulator, and delay module connectors by back probing. Seems I have where I need it except one fuse shows 12v at both sides with the fuse removed, but not voltage at top of the fuse with the fuse in. And the tan wire at the ignition...

All test points...sorry but that sounds vague to me. What are the test points? Unless what you mean is follow the X, Y, and I, circuits from the ignition switch looking for 12v until there isn't 12v, and at that point determine why - be it due to a switch position, faulty switch, short to ground?

Thank you. I don't believe I have one. So it's irrelevant. I will go through and test my PTO switch. So far Ignition, brake switch, neutral switches, and seat switch (wires tied together) have been ruled out. If the starter relay works (since it runs) would that rule out the kill relay?

Am i correct that when running: 1) seat switch is open, as is the tilt switch 2) Power to p1-a 3) p2-c is then not powered per #1 assumption 4) p1-b is always grounded

Appears it was the ignition switch. Swapped one from another JD tractor I had.

I have black, green, pink, and white wires at my parking brake switch. Black and green show continuity together, and pink and white show continuity together (depending if parking brake is on or off). There is continuity across the two sets but it is very high resistance.

Not sure what the serial number is. Model z225c has a VIN but I don't see a serial. I'll test the parking brake switch and report back

Yea looked and found a few. Seems that 618-04164 cross references to ZC-DMBB-4DDC-2RPX. I have also found ZC-DMBB-4DDC-2"P"PX - put the p in quotes to show the change. Appears this is correct as well. Thanks everyone.

Looks like the starter had been replaced by the previous owner. When looking up the starter for that engine it came with a plastic or a metal gear. Ended up getting a new flywheel and starter to match.

Already checked for voltage drop. Brand new battery.
