I have a Honda mower which works nice except it surges a lot when the blades are not on. When I turn the blades on the surging stops which is clear since the governor arm stops moving from left to right. Any idea of what’s going on? I cleaned the carb pretty thoroughly.

I usually buy carburators from ebay or amazon, which cost around 12 dollars depending if you want more things included or not. Many say that they are bad,but they arent. Yes Ive had one or two to come with a problem, but not including that they work perfectly fine.

Your right, but it just gets that problem out of the way to make sure that it isnt simply just the carb.

Sorry, don’t want to cause any fights but when I apply the choke when the engine is running, it runs at a low speed and sounds not very smooth.

The blower smokes a lot from the muffler and every time I press on the throttle, the smoke increases. The color is grayish white, and smokes no matter if it is warmed up or not.

It did, I said everything works fine which when I say all, it means even the choke works.

Everything works fine, it idles fine and starts pretty fast. After 30 seconds it starts surging but doesn’t die.

No you can’t do this. It is because if you change the wheel size, it will make the deck be un even as it is not set to be like that and the self propel might not work correctly if it is RWD.

I bought a Troy Bilt leaf blower, I did all the usual things to fix a small engine like air filter and I also bought a brand new carb. However, it smokes a lot but I do not know what the problem might be. Any suggestions?
