You guys were correct laying in bed the other night I realized if battery had dead cell
and trying to jump the full voltage would not make it to the starter, Anyway bought
new battery the mower fired right up. Can't complain the old battery was bought 4/2016

My dad was having problems with his mower starting, conditions similar to yours. He said that he checked the fuse, solenoid, starter, safety switches and other things. I went over to his house looked at it, and asked him, "Did you check the battery?" He said, "Yes. It's showing over 12 volts." Then I asked, "Did you put a load on it?" "No." The look on his face was priceless. He said, "Damn! That should've have been the first thing I did." We both got a chuckle out of that.
