JD Z225 Repairs

Tiger just come here and prove it if you ever done this. I wish I had the funds to pay for your trip but I don't.

There is only 3/8" between the rocker cover and the square wrap around tube. Not even enough room to remove the two lower screws; unless, I grind down a 3/8 socket for the 1/4 dr ratchet. Even if you remove the screws you still can't get the cover past the rockers. In order to remove the square tube both transaxles must loosen a lot. This means trying to support the whole weight of the rear half of the mower by the engine deck only. Btw both rear wheels has to come off in order to do this just access the transaxles mounting screws.

And make it clear I did tried removing that tube without loosening the transaxles before I gave the estimate.

Plus the service manual have you removing the engine.

I will post a picture of the rocker cover area vs the square tube later if the battery holds a charge long enough on the old cell phone. Charging now from a completely dead battery.

Don't worry yourself over it. Besides the trip would take a couple days to reach Pluto, TN. I do have access to faster method that costs even more. The customer decided it was more important to get her car repaired. I have reassemble the mower and it is ready for the return trip via horse and wagon.

I am turning my attention to the Big Dog where the transaxle mounts are being replaced. While I am at it change their oil and filters. Forth Hustler that I had done this year the upgrade to. Normally hydrostatics are self contained most Hustlers I work on but this one has a remote oil container. So draining is best especially since its oil is already black.

Then I got find what causing the random misfire in a BS 31S engine. Started out with water in the fuel. Would run but not with the deck engaged. Now it runs with the deck engaged but still misfiring randomly.

And at times I use a small scotch brite pad on the die grinder but mostly a simple backbone razor blade removing the RTV.
