Honda HRX217VKA Submersed In Flood!

I have sold a couple from time to time on Craigslist but I am probably not the guy you may be thinking of. I see multiple mowers by him all the time.
 
Take out the spark plug before you crank it to prevent a bent connecting rod. maybe it just won't crank so don't force it. Dd drain it completely and add new oil like they said. After you run it a while change oil again to remove any mud, dirt or debris that may have gotten in the crank case.. I had this happen to a Bombardier muskeg tractor, while manager of the Fish Springs National Wildlife Refuge 65 miles from Dugay Proving Grounds in Utah, that broke a track and sunk into a marsh almost out of sight. The engine was a Chrysler 300 V8. It was under water for about a week, about 70 miles from the nearest town, I went to Dugway Proving Grounds in Utah and got 150 feet of heavy cable and wove loops in the ends. One end to the muskeg tractor and the other end on the pull hook on the front of a D6 Cat with blade up to protect the operator in case the cable broke. The D6 was cabled to a D7 Cat and they pulled in tandem. The ground shook as the Cats poured out black smoke. The Muskeg dove into the marsh and came along like a mole until pulled onto dry ground. We pulled it back to the shop., cleaned it up, removed the sparkplugs and drained the oil. Cleaned up the electrical system and cranked it. Water squirted from the spark plug holes. Changed the oil twice and got it running again. Changed oil in the transmission and differentials too.
 
All done. Looks awesome and runs great! Transferred motor to another deck and I even transferred the model/serial number sticker to the replacement deck. Can’t help myself 🤪
