Z225 Shuts off when parking brake disengaged

Z225 new to me. Got it running, I could disengage the parking brake and move it around but nothing would happen when I'd engage the PTO switch.

Had removed the engine cover at some point. And must have disconnected the ground wire to the coil, and now wouldn't shut off when key is off. I understand why. The issue is with the coil ground now connected, the mower shuts off if the parking brake is taken off, PTO switch is engaged, or obviously the lap bars are moved. Blades do not engage if I remove the coil ground.

Figured maybe the ignition. So I put in a new one I had laying around with the same pin layout. However using the new ignition blows the battery fuse.

Based on some information I found the pink wire (accessory I believe) at the ignition should be 12v when the engine is running but it is ground.

And last but not least, there is no fuel solenoid, so that connector is disconnected.

Serial number. -120000 or 120001-. Neither is showing a pink wire at the ignition switch.

Just because the switch looks the same doesn't mean the internal layout is the same.

This is the schematic for 120001-.

Also it is likely the seat switch has failed.

Sorry someone else mentioned a pink wire in another thread with the same mower. I'll have to check the serial.

Seat switch shows continuity when pressed and I have it ziptide and tested that way to be sure. Checked wires from ignition to parking brake switch and all have good continuity.

I have checked wiring for any damage and have not found any.

Interlock solenoid has been replaced. All fuses are good. No fuse in the "light" port since I don't have lights.

Not sure what the serial number is. Model z225c has a VIN but I don't see a serial. I'll test the parking brake switch and report back

I have black, green, pink, and white wires at my parking brake switch. Black and green show continuity together, and pink and white show continuity together (depending if parking brake is on or off). There is continuity across the two sets but it is very high resistance.

I believe this is the correct wiring diagram but it doesn't show everything.

Correct me if I'm wrong. Yellow wire from ignition switch is 12v to the interlock relay (k2). Seat switch grounds the other side of that which is a white wire from seat switch to the interlock. Which makes the interlock unground the pink wire back to the brake switch. Where the PTO pink wire is also tied in.
So 12v yellow wire, make sure wire from seat switch to interlock is grounded. Make sure pink wire to parking brake isn't grounded.

May be a little education is in order..

VIN numbers are model and serial number combined. Every vehicle you own has an unique VIN number.

Provided yours is -120000.
