Mowing then dies

Need some help.
2008 CUB CADET GT 2544
22hp Kohler engine
Was mowing the lawn and it started coughing and running rough, then it just died. Thought it might be fuel related, so I replaced the fuel filter and get good gas flow. Checked spark plugs, no spark. Maybe one of the safety switches? Any other suggestions?

If it's a safety switch , it will not even turn over , does it turn over and not fire Or does it not even respond to your ignition Key ?
 
How did you check for spark? If you don't have a gap spark tester, I would pull the plug, hook it up, ground it, and crank the engine. If no spark, try unhooking kill wire from coil. Where is the plug from? I hear there are many clone plugs out there that are no good. Buy from local auto parts store.
 
Thanks, I’ll replace the plugs after rechecking if needed. I cleaned and gapped them to .030. Manual says RC12YC, do you recommend another?
 
one cylinder or two? If both died, I would try spraying a little berrymans b12 into carb to see what that does. If the engine spins properly, it is a dual cylinder engine, and both cylinders are dead, then it has to be something common to both. That probably rules out spark and compression. Common items would be oil sender if you have one, ignition switch, basically anything that would kill both coils, and fuel.
