One of the wires broke off at the blade clutch . Any ideas on soldering or any other way to reattach the foolish thing ? I'm trying to avoid a new clutch purchase . Thank you .
I pulled the rubber grommet out of the hole in the clutch where the wire broke off . Grabbed a blue butt splice and cut the hollow plastic ends off . Pushed the crimp part over the stub of wire in the clutch and put the pigtail wire into the other side of the connector . Squeezed it tight and taped the he out of it . Works like a charm . It will wear out eventually , but for now , good to go .clean it a little as best you can with an exacto knife. Slide some heat shrink tubing over the piece of wire you will be adding. Cut the jacket off that wire at the end, pre-clean and tin it. Then try to pre-tin the nub that is left, and you already cleaned. Solder them together relying on the solder to hold them. Let it cool and solidify before moving it. Slide the heat shrink over it, use a heat gun to shrink it, Gently move the wire to follow the good wire, and tape them together every few inches. That will help SLOW it from breaking again, which it will do in time. And save your pennies for a new one.
