Toro Timemaster model 20199

I have this Timemaster mower and while I think it's a great mower I cannot figure out one thing. Serial number starts with 313.

I have replaced the pulley on the blade shaft where the belt on it goes to the engine, the shaft, and the spindle.

The pulley was held tight by a locknut and under it was a cup washer and under that a flat washer.

The parts diagram did not show a flat washer so I left it off. Tightened with impact wrench.

After several hours of use the pulley was loose.

Emailed Toro but no help.

Looked at the various serial number groups and they went from a spring washer to the cup washer to a spring washer and cup washer and then back to a spring washer.

What I think is a flat washer might be a flattened spring washer but looks like a flat washer.

Trying to figure out what I should use under the nut to hold the pulley tight? When the pulley gets loose it kind of beats up the pulley. The pulley I replaced should have had a hole with two flat sides and rounded edges between the flat sides. Instead it had basically a round hole.

Annoyed that Toro would not answer my question.

Sounds like someone sent you the wrong pulley 121-9100 spindle pulley.

Yes the washer is Belleville washer which is spring type washer. Otherwords the center is raised up that is flatten as you tighten the 1/2-20 nut. And the nut is tighten to 60 ft/lbs.

That's the pulley that goes blade to blade. I am talking about the V-belt pulley on top of that mentioned in your post.

Well I ordered 120-3334 and that's what I got. I am now concerned with what washer or washers to put under the nut to hold the pulley tight. As I said the various serial numbers groups have gone between a spring washer or cup washer or both.

Question on the 121-9100 spindle pulley which is pictured in this post. Which side of the pulley is the upside and which is the down. One side gas a completely round center. The other side has a double D type center. Does the double D face down or face up? Not sure if it’s a critical detail or not but I suspect it is

if you look at parts for a later model, the belt portion is at the top. You can see the flats also. The spring washer goes on top of that and the nut on top of the washer. The same washer is also used on the other pulley too.

I am asking about the big black plastic pulleys, the ones that the cogged belt mesh with. There is a side that has a round metal center and a side that has a double d center… you can see the difference in the photos of the pulleys that were attached to the original post. My question is this…Does the double side go on first I.e. down or does the double d side face up with the metal drive belt pulley matching up to the double d side.
