Jb weld extreme heat paste

Well that muffler at my distributor is 26.99 with a list price of 44.99. But hey Husqvarna just to sell more mufflers.

And particular muffler flange need three seam welds on the flange not just six spot welds. Spot welds at a high flex point just don't cut it.
I mean don't get me wrong suppose I paid $40 or $44 whatever I would pay that. I wouldn't pay over $100 for the same part
 
But actually since I put that high heat paste on the muffler I'm definitely going to try the setup later today so I did some research and apparently the high heat could first of all not cause anything to melt but it could just start like peeling away and getting back to just the the raw metal so I'm going to see how that works and a fair test would be to run it for 20 minutes that's usually the most I run when cutting the lawn. I mean I have no idea it might hold up.

Startech thanks for that insight you know I would never know I see I guess six spot welds and I never really thought about it but that's why the whole thing came apart when it got real hot everything just melted but with your solution it probably would have still been together but the engine still would have cut out because it was just too hot
 
First off I'm absolutely against gambling especially in pro sports.

But if I run this JB weld paste job and I'm not going to say very long time like say 10 minutes with the blades spinning even though there's nothing to cut and then I shut it down and take a photograph after 10 minutes anyone have any predictions about what that paste job will look like?
 
Just ran the lt2000 for 15 minutes under load + I have a photograph of what the temperature was near the exhaust pipe muffler interface. The highest temperature near the engine but on the exhaust pipe with 765° F. So far the JB weld paste seems to be holding up. Not sure if this is the right photograph but I think I got something like 675° F on the exhaust pipe but near the muffler.

Amazing how people buy $1800 cell phones but no way in heck buy a 20 dollar mower part LOL. Sucking down that over priced StarTrash coffee.
Maybe so but as an example I just purchased an 11" tablet not a fancy name brand and paid $84.00 and even better it runs Android and works great!
 
just sharing. when a mixture burns in a cylinder, the burn goes from molecule to molecule. If the mixture is too rich, the lack of oxygen between molecules slows the burn but the excess fuel molecules cool the burn. If the mixture is too lean, the distance between fuel molecules is so great the burn is slowed. That burn will extend sometimes past the point where the piston can harvest the energy, out the exhaust valve and into the exhaust. When that happens, the temperatures can get excessive. I would keep an eye on this engine to be sure it is not running too lean, or with too ******** timings. ALSO, if the exhaust valve is out of adjustment and tight, the leakage can way overheat an exhaust, so I would definately check the valve lash on this engine.

Okay thanks for this information it was probably a couple years ago where I adjusted most of what you're referring to it's actually been running this way for that long so the values that I posted here to me was nothing out of the ordinary but maybe it is running a little too lean I can only stay the way it is now with the temperatures around 750° f let's say after 15 minutes I didn't think anything of it because it's been like that but I think you're suggesting those might be a little high + make the adjustments you are suggesting to decrease the temperature as measured if the exhaust pipe?

I mean I honestly thought it was running well and the whole point of this post is about I used J-Beld metal paste to try and quiet a muffler and so far that's worked?
