Who has the mulch kit installed and how is it ? Is it worth it to get?already have the grass flap installed on mine, have just wanted to know if the the mulch kit was worth it
Thanks XTHD 52”

As a general comment about mulch kits on riders: Plan on washing the underside of the deck consistently after each use before parking the mower. If not, the baffles will rot away quickly.

NO! You will have to mow when the grass is completely dry. That would mean hottest part of the day. You would have to mow more often. Mulch kits tend to pack clippings under the deck and randomly drop clumps on the lawn. A wind row effect, between each row, is often visible. The underside of the deck must be cleaned after each mow.
The Grass Flap is fine for blocking the discharge chute when mowing next to places you don't want the clippings to go.
Side discharge is the way to go.

I'm almost afraid to admit that I have one but......
I use the kit only during the fall when the leaves are falling. My HDZT60 would throw the mostly uncut leaves 20' away, and that was the original reason I was 'mowing' in the first place. Tried blocking the chute but wasn't happy with the results. Now, with the kit installed, the leaves are truly pulverized, and the lawn looks leaf-free. Sorry boys, but I highly recommend it...but only for fall leaves.

How hard or easy to take off and on ?on my John Deere I had a manual rod I could change back and forth and not have to take the kit off and on but it looks like the gravely is either mounted or not?

It can be a bear, especially putting it on. But hey, I need a good workout once a year.
