Has anyone replaced the engine in a Bolens QT 16 mod. 1660? What engine did you use?

The biggest problem I have with my Bolens QT16 is mice. They get into the Kohler engine, make nests and block air flow so it overheats very quickly. Not an easy job of clearing the nests out.

The mods I listed from 2013 wasn't enough. I ended up modifying the drive pulley system to put on a brake on the pulley when drive is released. The drive pulley won't even turn now. This has fixed the problem and today is still in use (end 2019).
