What do you mean the valves are not loose? Did you actually check the clearances at TDC of power stroke? Checking and adjusting the valves needs to be done on a cold engine. 0.003–0.005 inches (0.08–0.13 mm) for the intake valve and 0.005–0.007 inches (0.13–0.18 mm) for the exhaust valve

I would check your valve lash settings. Briggs engines are usually .003-005" on intake valves. .005-.007" on Exhaust valves. If you aren't familiar with setting valves, there are a lot of good videos on youtube explaining this procedure.

Thanks! I've got one coming. I wish I could have found the paper style element but I didn't have any luck. Foam will be better for this application anyway.

Just my 2cents, that stud I believe holds the ignition coil in place, be careful that you don't break the housing on the motor that holds that stud. Best answer is dremel a slot in top of stud and try and break the set on the nut. Otherwise, I'd cut the nut off to preserve the stud mount.

That would be too easy for the owner, he's squeaky cheap. But I'm in Canada so it will be over $60 cdn to get it to the door. His friend will 3d print for free if I can determine exact dimensions. If up to me, it would be ordered already instead of wasting my time & others hunting for more...

Looking for dimensions of the foam air cleaner inner support for this engine. I'm guessing it is 2-1/2" ID about 2-7/8" long, not sure on the OD dimension. Friend of a friend's engine that I rebuilt the carb for. Now needing the insert for the foam air filter. If any of you have a picture...

Nuts for pricing on 1lb, but if you refilled it would be worthwhile. I would assume it would be designed to be balanced for using. StarTech would know since it's his.
