Mine is similar. Takes 2 to 4 pulls to start if it's been sitting for a while. One pull if used weekly. Also south Florida. Only use ethanol free REC90 gas.

You can get a new WLA-1 carb on ebay for $15 to $20. Don't bother messing with the old one and just swap it out. I've done the same on a few of my Echo's I've bought second hand. They all get a new carb and a tune up kit. Makes them run like factory new.

I live in south Florida and my hrx217 takes 2 to 3 pulls to start. 2 at the very minimum. Has never started on the 1st pull. My old mower had a Briggs and Stratton engine and it started 99 percent of the time on the 1st pull
