I will never use any in my small engines!

Nothing wrong with having hydro mower. I have a 2004 JD LX280 hydro that works just as good as the day I bought it!

As far as ethanol, I was always under the impression that it was not good for small engines. If so, maybe this is outdated information. I personally don't use ethanol in anything I own, small motors or vehicles.

The first thing to fix would be to move out of California!

Just my 2 cents but if it's anything like the new Cub Cadet snow blower 2X 30 EFI I bought last year, nothing but problems and Cub Cadet won't do any more than they need to help with customer service / satisfaction. I know this doesn't help you with your issue but hope it's not a Cub Cadet thing...

I agree, mulching is not for grass. I have a mulching kit with mulching blades but it is only used after the last mow of the summer. I only mulch the leaves that end up on the yard. It does a very good job of making those leaves disappear.

Trust me, 25 psi in the front tires is way too much. Every lawnmower I've ever delt with was close to 10 psi rear and 14 psi front. Also, when leveling the deck, shake it after making any adjustment as it could be hung up or tight and this will make sure it's moving during adjustment. This tool...

Been using 10w-30 all my life in my mowers. Never had any engine problems on any mowers. Don't burn oil and have over 1,200 hours on them. The manufacturer isn't going to recommend 10w-30 if it's going to damage the engine! 30 weight is for small engines like 5hp engines.
