The combination of the brake switch & engine kill is a safety feature, need to stop blades quickly - release handle & save a foot or some thing else.

DB Electrical-Starters-Alternators, have ebay store or buy direct, quality & good prices. Have had great experience with products.

After ignition fixed, may want to see if plunger rod partially blocks main jet with rubber stopper removed.

Carburetor up on top, oil gets into vent tube and ends up in carb if it is on the down side.

Narrow (thin, flat) 1/2" wrench fits at the top of solenoid at bottom of bowl to remove
