Most of the time it's because you have to hold down the shutoff switch until the mower stops. If you let go too soon the contact breaks because it is a momentary switch and the engine keeps running. If that is not it I don't know....

FYI you will probably not find a 75745 anywhere, and if you do, it won't be for that price! Even used, that (slightly older) model is hard to come by. I find the Toro engines to be built just as well (even better in some aspects!) as the Kohler so I would not let that sway your opinion...

Videos on these engines. I have heard the Toro engine is being discontinued next year because of cost - not performance. The V-Twin lawsuit from B&S on foreign made engines, Tariffs, and shipping have all made importing v-twin engines unrealistic at this time.
