Have a late 80's to early 90's 14hp vertical shaft Kohler on a Scag mower. Recoil start only....no battery. This season the mower deck wouldn't engage. Determined it was due to very little output from the regulator, further checking revealed about 19 volts AC from stator winding. Read...
