B&S - Vanguard v-twin 16hp static power to power managed

An engine not long for this world? I simply meant the engine may not last long in an application it's not meant for.

    Stens solenoid failure

Again,I have to totally agree with bertsmobile1. A strong starter and a poor carb needle valve + a weak design head gasket is a recipe for disaster. A stronger head gasket would not be a good solution either. Then ,if in the event of hydro lock, you'd get a bent rod or at the very least.a...

    Stens solenoid failure

I've purchased a number of items from DB,both mower and automotive, and have always been pleased with the quality and also the price. I would recommend them highly.

    Stens solenoid failure

I agree that is usually the case. Most mower owners are not very mechanically inclined. The pesky B&S compression release that won't work with the valves out of adjustment or it being broken will damage a solenoid and starter in short order. Overdoing the cranking can and will melt the...

    Stens solenoid failure

That's a good price! Can't get them at the auto parts store for that amount and sure beats the OEM from the mower dealer!

    Stens solenoid failure

There is a golf cart continuous duty solenoid rated for 300 amp also used on electric winches. My current draw requirement has never been that high, but they are available,20 bucks or so.

Murray 30" Rear Engine Mower - Switch Help (does not turn off)

Good catch,StarTech! I need to re look at the OP's pic. My mistake. Of course both sides of the loop go through the slot. I was concentrating on the Ground wire not the choke linkage :-(ashamed)

    Stens solenoid failure

On my mowers, when the starter solenoid fails, and the OEM ones seem to be a weak point, I replace them with a common automotive one. That cures the issue pretty much forever. Usually less expensive, too.

Murray 30" Rear Engine Mower - Switch Help (does not turn off)

All my Briggs linkages look like this and there is no separate choke cable. When the throttle lever is moved to full wide open, the part of the linkage that is unseen in the posted pic, moves to push that loop of wire to the left (in the posted pic) to close the choke butterfly. Moving the...

    Chainsaw “Winter Setting”?

I've held off as long as I could, but just can't help myself this morning. My "Winter" setting on my Poulan Pro 260 is "setting on the shelf in the garage"! LOL!

Murray 30" Rear Engine Mower - Switch Help (does not turn off)

You should use stranded automotive wire,16 to 20 gauge. This kill switch wire doesn't carry much current. Solid copper wire has no use on anything that has any vibration to it. The shaking, even a little will fatigue the wire ,leading to breakage and circuit failure.
