I'm looking at a 2013 JD105 to replace a *brand new* 2012 Ariens 2142 with a bum hydrostatic transmission after 3 months. The JD105 has a CVT, which I'm told is better on smaller equipment because of design issues with small hydrostatics. Comments? Opinions re the JD105? ~ Peter

I bought an Ariens (made by Husqvarna) 2142 at Home Depot in April. It was (note the word WAS) a 2012 leftover. After 3 month plus 1 week HD got it back ~ H-S transmission was shot. I later found out that "they" have a fundamental problem with that transmission, to the extent that many locals...
