Okay, I cleaned the original carb and installed it--no change. It's not the carb, it's something the prior owner did with the linkage. Since I never saw it in its original config, I have no idea what is mis-rigged. Anyone have a handy YouTube vid or anything that can give me a starting point...

Gold Series are not as common as Silver Series, but I am pretty sure both are Duraforce engines, which should all use the same parts. Check eBay and search for Duraforce or Silver Series. Just buy the top part below the shroud, includes the starter.
