The Briggs & Stratton engine barely raises above idle when it's suppose to have a load on it. it's a 5hp. I just bought it used. The guy said it had a leak in the gas tank, which it does, so I can fix that easy enough, but testing the chipper, after starting it, I started feeding small branches...

Break the tires loose sand and file down any rust and weld slag tits on the inside of rim. Make it smooth so when place the tube nothing will rub on it.. If you're not going with a tube then just break the bead on the tires sand down the lips real well to remove any rust and old sealer apply new...

Make sure that when you mounted the carb the mating surface on both sides were very clean and the gasket wasn't deformed. It could be as simple as it's sucking air at the gasket causing the popping.

Either buy a replacement tank or you could try buying a plastic welder from HF. Just make sure to vent all of the fumes before introducing heat.

Why don't you just put an inner tube in it and be done with it.

If it's just a vent hose, why don't you take what you have to the auto parts store, match the inner and outer diameters and either splice on the added length needed or just but the full length of hose.

I have used the same wrench you're describing for the last 10yrs and have never had a problem with it. Everyone gets a bad tool every once in awhile, just like buying a lemon car, it happens.

For 1/3rd ac. I'd buy a rider or zero turn used of course then a smal 20" push for cleanup work in tight areas. That's just me though. My yard man 22" works great for me.
