such a thing as a mower lift?

Deere Z425 mower. Is there a lift available to raise the mower by the wheels to get underneath other than a floor jack and jackstands? I've seen the one for lawn tractors that raise either axle Something that goes 2-3 feetg off the ground..

left and right jets for a z425 carb????

I'll look at them with a magnifying glass for any numbers. I actually do have the tools to measure the jets and other carb setting, at least car carbs. Yes, it is mighty vintage.

left and right jets for a z425 carb????

Thanks I ordered one i n case the jets do not show up. If i am looking towards the engine from the intake side, right is right- which would be the rear cylinder.

left and right jets for a z425 carb????

found the jets laying in the bottom of the bowl. looks like they are held in place using o-rings. wnt to the dealer to order new jets and they list a left jet and a right jet each with a different part number. which is the left and right jet location in the plastic tube where they sit? parts guy...

    The annual Z425 no start.

Latest update: got the carb rebuild kit but no jet o-rings. The jets do not stay in place, they just fall out. Off the the Deere dealer again tomorrow to see if I can get o-rings or jets.

    The annual Z425 no start.

These do not screw in. It looks like what appears to be an 0-ring that holds them in place. Shop manual shows how to remove them by using a punch on the back side and pushing them out of the emulsion tube but nothing on installing them. The carb kit is supposed to be here tomorrow and I'll see...

    The annual Z425 no start.

Got a chance today to look at it again. Couldn't loosen the bowl screws so I had to remove the carb and looky looky what I found when I got the bowl off. One jet laying in the bottom of the bowl and the other jet laying sideways inside the emulsion tube. Can I "assume" this is my problem. The...

    The annual Z425 no start.

There isn't any ethanol free stations near me. Sunoco GT is what I use in my snowblower, Grand National, and 427 Corvette- with some 110 leaded added in. Octane is for knock suppression and since it's readily available at $8 a gallon, which is a lot less than True Fuel.

    The annual Z425 no start.

Born, guilty on all 3. I'm thinking of a steady diet of Sunoco GT 98 octane unleaded. I guess a carb rebuild is in my future.

    The annual Z425 no start.

Thanks all. All ! got done today was pulling off the fuel hose and cranking. Fuel pumped out. Started raining so I am done for today. To check the fuel solenoid, remove it and cycle the ignition switch on and off and watch the pintle move? I can here it but have not visually verified it.

    The annual Z425 no start.

Once again, it does not start. If I spray fuel into the air filter it starts and run as long as I spray fuel. This tells me ignition is ok, but no fuel delivery. 2 questions: how do I check the fuel pump, or just replace it? I have adequate fuel supply to the pump inlet and the vacuum hose is...

    Z425 oil leak

Thanks. Is there some sort of crankcase breather/pcv system on this engine that might be clogged and causing excessive pressure buildup?

    Z425 oil leak

It appears the engine is leaking oil from what I'll call the oil pan gasket. Is it easy to replace as removing the engine, unbolting the oil pan and replacing the gasket and crank seal? Anything I should look out for? It's B&S 23hp twin.

    tool to change fuel solenoid

My X425 starts and runs for about 5 seconds, then will not start. Reading through posts here, seems like the fuel solenoid has failed. What super trick wrench is needed to fit between the float bowl and solenoid body to loosen it? My skinny 1/2" inch is too long and my short 1/2" is too wide. I...
