Yeah, what StarTech said. That idler pulley should spin freely if it is getting hot and actually causing the nut to back off the bolt then it needs to be replaced. I have seen videos where guys have just replaced the bearing if the pulley was still in good shape but I’ve never tried that myself.

CT, I’m glad you got it worked out. I admittedly did not replace my tensioning spring for the blade belt and probably should have but with mine to get the drive pulley tight the pulley needed to be back far enough that there was interference between the blade belt and that hanger. Then again...
