Cub Cadet XT2 decision time- new or used?

Hopefully you got a good one. I just read some reviews on Lowe’s and some love it and some have had serious issues. At least you didn’t spend over $2,000 on a new one!

Cub Cadet XT2 decision time- new or used?

With the quality of new equipment declining and prices increasing, used looks like the reasonable option to me. I bought a used Kubota ZT 8 yrs ago for $2500 or about half the cost of a new one. Was 2 yrs old and had 40 hrs on it. I’ve replaced deck spindles and belts in that period of time...

    Quick change valve

Another great idea concocted in the marketing department. I wouldn’t consider a “quick drain” type valve on anything I own…..especially one made of plastic. RUFKM? If I can’t unscrew a drain plug I have no business changing the oil.

    Changed my mind

I bought a Milwaukee electric mower only because I already have a bunch of their batteries and chargers. New on Fakebook market place was about $400. Two 12 ah batteries takes it to over $1,000! The quality and power are good BUT the batteries go maybe an hour. Wheels spin on bearings and are...

Riding mower runs for about 20 mins then stops

I would start by blowing out fuel line. If this fixes it you know what the problem was. Throwing multiple parts at leaves you hanging with what the actual problem was……assuming it actually fixes the problem.

Stihl MS 250 Chain Saw Problems

I have a 1985 John Deere chain saw made by Kioritz which was identical to the echo equivalent model at the time. I bought it based on specs….had much higher rpm than Stihl if I remember correctly. Had lower price too. Still use it today and starts 2nd or 3rd pull. Always run Stihl 2 stroke oil...

Briggs Intek, replaced everything, still surging.. Ideas?

I had a surging issue and went thru just about everything mentioned in this thread. Cleaning the carb didn’t work so I bought a new OE B&S carb which didn’t fix it. While installing the carb I noticed the plastic Intake manifold was warped and wouldn’t seal. Replaced it and problem solved.

    Knock-off oil filters

Total negligence to instal a filter that is considerably shorter. When I cross reference a filter, I always compare it to the one being replaced to validate proper filter.

Valves were fine…..read the follow up post.

2 stroke longevity - how many hours

I have a John Deere chain saw I bought new over 40 years ago. Never drained the fuel or used additive. Starts and runs like new.

2 stroke longevity - how many hours

I have a 20 year old Stihl line trimmer that works well. Was used heavily on a mountain bike trail building project for 5 years. Now maintains my 3/4 acres and occasionally the HOA common area. It’s been used hard in triple digit temps and has has a carbide table saw blade for trimming saplings...

    Sharpening Blades

I guess I haven’t. 50 is what I have. Will have to get one and give it a shot.

    Sharpening Blades

How does a flap disc remove material faster than an angle or bench grinder? Perhaps I misunderstood what was previously posted……
