With the quality of new equipment declining and prices increasing, used looks like the reasonable option to me. I bought a used Kubota ZT 8 yrs ago for $2500 or about half the cost of a new one. Was 2 yrs old and had 40 hrs on it. I’ve replaced deck spindles and belts in that period of time...

Another great idea concocted in the marketing department. I wouldn’t consider a “quick drain” type valve on anything I own…..especially one made of plastic. RUFKM? If I can’t unscrew a drain plug I have no business changing the oil.

Great info here! I’m always amazed by ungrateful first time posters. Those that have responded, your efforts are appreciated as I know I’m still learning.

I would start by blowing out fuel line. If this fixes it you know what the problem was. Throwing multiple parts at leaves you hanging with what the actual problem was……assuming it actually fixes the problem.

I have a 1985 John Deere chain saw made by Kioritz which was identical to the echo equivalent model at the time. I bought it based on specs….had much higher rpm than Stihl if I remember correctly. Had lower price too. Still use it today and starts 2nd or 3rd pull. Always run Stihl 2 stroke oil...

I had a surging issue and went thru just about everything mentioned in this thread. Cleaning the carb didn’t work so I bought a new OE B&S carb which didn’t fix it. While installing the carb I noticed the plastic Intake manifold was warped and wouldn’t seal. Replaced it and problem solved.

Total negligence to instal a filter that is considerably shorter. When I cross reference a filter, I always compare it to the one being replaced to validate proper filter.

I have a 20 year old Stihl line trimmer that works well. Was used heavily on a mountain bike trail building project for 5 years. Now maintains my 3/4 acres and occasionally the HOA common area. It’s been used hard in triple digit temps and has has a carbide table saw blade for trimming saplings...

I guess I haven’t. 50 is what I have. Will have to get one and give it a shot.

How does a flap disc remove material faster than an angle or bench grinder? Perhaps I misunderstood what was previously posted……
