Stiga stops when I step off.

Hi Tim Its security. If you want the engine to stay running, disconnect the switch under the seat. I know Stiga very well. I have ever had a Stiga Park and several villa"s. I repared them and sold them again.

    42 inch riding mower (1742) won’t crank

    No spark at plug

That is correct, but do not forget to disassemble the magnet coil and make it rust-free because rust will not give you a good grounding and result in no spark. When mounting the magnetic coil, the adjustment gap is equal to the thickness of a business card. Good luck. Harry

Does the ignition coil touch the flee wheel? On your photo it look like the coil already cleaned the side off the flee wheel. It may not touch the flee wheel, the gap between both has to be as wide as +/- 2 mm. As Thick as a card.

looking for ignition coil for lawn mower

Hi, I am not always shure that it is the ignition coil! I see you already took it off. Well if you clean the coil, the side off the flee wheel and the connection where you fasten the ignition coil from rust, the ignition coil needs a good connection to the body of the engine. (Closed circuit)...

    Tife chains

Some air out of the tires then chains on and put again some air in the tires untill they are not moving, that should fix your problem. Harry
