3hp 80302 Throttle and Governor Linkage

It stays in one place. It has a little pressure tab from the carb bowl screw. I haven't been able to mess with the speed, because I can't figure out what is supposed to hook to what. I've tried like StarTechs picture, but it binds up and pops the hook out or doesn't retract

    Here's what I'm talking about

3hp 80302 Throttle and Governor Linkage

Mine doesn't have a cable on the bottom. It's just controlled by pulling the governor rod up and down according to the decals. I tried uploading a picture, but it says the file is too large.

Thanks! I'll give it a try when I get back. I never noticed any sort of bottom spring like the one shown in this picture though.

3hp 80302 Throttle and Governor Linkage

I just got this machine and got it running, but can't get any throttle response. How are the hook and spring supposed to be placed with the throttle and air governor? I can't figure out how it's supposed to be without it binding up.

K301 Sputters When Revved Over Half Throttle

I adjusted the points to .016 and that seemed to take care of it...for now. I can't see how I'd have that problem this time when there weren't any issues the last time I ran it, unless it had several all at once.

K301 Sputters When Revved Over Half Throttle

The choke didn't make a difference. I'm pretty sure the head gasket wasn't leaking, because it was still getting good enough compression I could turn it by hand and hear/feel it. I also just took the head off to see if there was carbon built up, which there wasn't and no signs of compression...

K301 Sputters When Revved Over Half Throttle

I've mowed with it at least 3 times so far this season without any problems until now. I've cleaned the carburetor, changed points, condenser, coil, regulator, check the spark plug, tried different plug wires, adjusted the governor, and it's still not wanting to run full throttle, once it's...

    CH20 Wiring

Okay, this one has the solenoid on the starter. I'm not used to this type. I'm more used to the old k series.

    CH20 Wiring

Okay, thanks! Any idea what my other red wire would be to? And should one of the big solenoid studs not have anything?

    CH20 Wiring

That's kinda my question. What would I need to run to the switch? I have 5, 6, and 7 spade switches to use. The engine has a white wire to the ignition modules, a blue to the spade on the starter solenoid, a purple from the center of the regulator, a green to the oil sensor, one red to the fuel...

    It's by itself.

    Engine cranks but doesn't start

I'd check that white wire for any damage and make sure it has good clean contact. Those are usually the ignition kill, and you might not be getting your power through the ignition modules to the spark plugs.

    CH20 Wiring

I'm trying to wire a key switch and battery to a CH20 with fixed timing. What type of key switch do i need and where do I run the cables and wires?
