I had to take out one hydro to replace a fan so I went ahead and pulled the other one and drained and refilled them both. The machine has 340 hours on it, the fluid was nasty but didn't smell bad. I sure wish there was a drain on the bottom.

Thanks. I did see that the other day. Mine is a 2200 EZT, but has the fan/pulley set up like it shows on the 2100 on their site. I changed the oil in both hydro's yesterday and EZT is cast into the side of the case. I attached a pic, hope it shows it.

Ok, I searched for the fan using Eaton, Swisher, Z Max 2560 and found nothing. I'm sure you did too already, I wish I had better news.

Thanks much. That is conclusive enough for me, they have 1" axles. So the double D (DD) would indicate 1" axle. What was most confusing for me is the fact that my pulleys are on top of the fans, on all the pics I see of the ZT-2200 EXT the fans are on top of the pulleys. I guess they can be...

Ouch, I hear ya. Don't know what I would do about that. Mine doesn't have a number on the parts list for the fan either but I searched the number on the hydro, does your hydro have a tag on it?

Hey again, I would like to know how to tell the difference between these two trans. On the manual it shows the 2100 to have the fan under the pulley and the 2200 to have the fan above the pulley. But upon further internet searches some trans pics show the fan under the pulley on the 2200 also...

I also have a 1998 Craftsman hydro that I've never changed fluid in. Now I'm thinking about doing that, it's working fine though.

Wow, I will for sure change both now. I'll research the amount, I believe I saw somewhere they hold 56 oz each or something like that.

Thanks for the reply. I contacted Hydro, they gave me the 72134 number which includes the pulley, nut, washer, etc. 53050 is the fan by itself, I bought two for less than the 72134 "kit". Now I have a spare in case something knocks the blades off again.

I looked at the old hub and it has 53050 on it, I got one one the way. Thanks...

That's right that Hydrogear doesn't offer the fan separate. I tool the old one off and looked close and the number 53050 was molded into the hub. I searched that number up and found the blade by itself for under 20 bux.

My 2008 Troy Built (MTD) does the same thing. I believe it's a safety feature. I would like to disable this.
