When replacing the idler pulley on a JD 48" mower deck, does the spacer go on the top or bottom of the pulley? I would appreciate input in this matter; I originally placed the spacer under the cover on the top but don't know if this is correct.:confused2:

How might one find the year a mower was produced from the ID # or can't you? I have a JD 265 w/17hp Kaw, 48" deck, ID M00265A481829. I am trying to figure out what it's worth and don't know the age of the machine. Any insight would be most appreciated.

This is a very helpful forum so I figure I'll give this problem a shot: I have a JD 265 with 17 Kw that dies once it gets hot, usually after about 30 minutes or so of mowing; it appears to act like it is not getting enough gas. Once the engine cools down it will start and run but will 'kill'...
