Wisconsin Model TJD / THD adding charging system

Has anyone had any experience, adding a charging system, magnets and stator, to a Wisconsin Model TJD \ THD engine built in January 1966? Is it necessary to replace the flywheel, if so by which one? From what I have muddled together flywheels with part numbers ENA 100 or ENA 101 should fit the...

Replacing an original engine with a modern one

Don't think that is quite the right title so here goes: Other than the Hp rating between old, original, and modern engines is there any difference in the power, torque, rpms available? If a new 6.5 Hp was used to replace an original 7 Hp, how badly would it affect the performance. I would...

    Changing motors

I have been told that I own a Model L with a 7.6 Hp Kohler. For various reasons it is not running and at minus 40 degrees it is too cold to work on. The only good thing is that at -40 it is generally too cold to snow. I have acquired 16 Hp and 18 Hp Kohler motors, can they be used...

    Custom Built Hit n' Miss

I have just uploaded, I hope, a photo with the same name I saw this "tractor" at a Steam and Antique Tractor Show at Milton Ontario. It was in the line up for the mini-tractor pull, did not get to see it pull; good reason to go back.

Snow mobile motor on a Gravely?

Well, I have snowmobile with a busted frame and a good motor and a Gravely with a good frame and a busted motor. Can I exchange the motors? Other than challenge of mounts and adapters a good idea or waste time? Mind you, a track mounted rototiller or mower does have a certain appeal.

    Bottom end is gone,

I was just informed that my 7.6 hp C8 Gravely, that the bottom end was gone, maybe a spun rod bearing. Does this mean, the piston is no longer attached to the crankshaft? Is it repairable or do I have a new lawn ornament? Thanks John 滴e who asks a question is a fool for five minutes; he who...

It is turning over nicely, good spark, just can not get to stay running more the two times. Considering using a trigger sprayer and squirting directly into the carb. Occasional back fires, right into your face. Using a rope One day I will remember to get the serial numbers in the same place...

    What have I bought?

I'd like to know year (circa) and model number. Can new/newer attachments be used; Rotary mower, brush hog, table mower? Are adapters needed? Do you think I paid to much, it starts but no oil pressure, $50.00 John
