    JD 345 stops

I would check and change the spark plugs first. Coils could be getting weak and not giving enough spark once under load but unlikely both at the same time. I would think one cylinder would keep the engine running. Pulse coils and stator would be another thing to look into. Could also be a seat...

    LOOKING FOR A HOOD FOR A 1995 jd 345

New is the only way to go. There are cheap ones on Ebay or you can go with Flip mfg which is really close to OEM quality. I bought a new OEM (JD) hood for my 345 earlier this year. https://flipmfg.com/products/702456

    John Deere Mower Parts

Are these OEM or aftermarket parts? I do agree aftermarket parts are money well wasted. I only buy OEM parts and I don't trust Ebay and especially not Amazon (scamazon) since they sell a lot of low quality Chinese parts listed as OEM. Ebay is only good for buying used parts. Amazon is good for...

need help to purchase new JD

Why would hitting a certain age stop someone from mowing their yard? Being inactive is the absolute worst thing you can do to your body. Staying active and being outdoors is the best thing for a persons health of any age.

need help to purchase new JD

I would look at the X580 or the X590 if you want to spend more. The X570 uses the same light duty steering, front axle, spindles and front wheels as the X300 series. The sector gear steering is a terrible set up for a tractor of that price and caliber and for that reason alone I would pass on...

Suggestions In 2022,23 for some slopes, pasture grasses, rocks and roots, ect. Tows cart full of barn, garden stuff.

You need a garden tractor. If buying new that would be the X500 series or the X700 series. There are also lots of used older machines that are still great. 240, 245, 260, 265, 285, 320, 325, 335, 345, GX series and GT series are all comparable to the X500 series which will include X500, X520...

    Amazon Stihl parts?????

If you are buying new parts off Amazon you are buying aftermarket parts. They claim a lot of parts to be OEM but they are not. Many of these Chinese manufactures are very good at making cheap quality knock off parts that look exactly like OEM. Don't be fooled into thinking you are getting a good...

    Lawn Boy 1978 7268

Using starting fluid on a 2 stroke will cause damage to the engine as if washes off all the lubrication so the engine is temporarily running with no oil. Starting fluid is hard on 4 stokes and destroys 2 strokes.

is a Lawnboy Gold series 10515 model worth fixing?

These mowers are more than worth fixing up. Way better than any new mower.

Duraforce that is extremely hard to start.

NEVER use starting fluid on a 2 stroke! Crank seals are probably bad causing a lean condition. This can destroy a 2 stroke engine especially with starting fluid which washes the lube off the cylinder and the cranks and rod bearings. The carbs flood because the needle and seat need replaced...

    worn out engine?

What happens is the needle leaks fuel into the engine and it blows out the exhaust on start up. A fuel shut off valve takes care of the issue.

    worn out engine?

Carb just needs a new seat and needle. I also recommend putting a fuel shut off valve on the fuel line. I also highly recommend getting the Briggs pilot jet if the engine is surging or hard to start... part #801308

Anyone use a grass blade on their trimmer?

I got a grass blade for one of my Stihl FS94R's and the install kit has a barrier bar that mounts on the loop handle and a different shield for the head. Is it really necessary to install the new shield and barrier bar? I just don't see it actually doing much over just leaving the original shield.
