Time for a new starter on my 724cc B&S?

Installed the Stens 435-859 kit - swapped out both the pinion gear and the metal cup that goes on top from my original starter. (The hole in the cap from the 435-859 kit was too small, and I have the 15-tooth gear). I hadn't noticed it before, but my 15-tooth pinion gear is actually metal...

Time for a new starter on my 724cc B&S?

Stens 435-859 Starter Drive Kit on order - will try that, but keeping my 15-pin pinion gear. (I have a steel flywheel, and I don't see anyone selling the 15-tooth gear. So I'll just re-use mine.) I'll update the thread when I have the repair complete.

Time for a new starter on my 724cc B&S?

Debris Kit (transmission cover) for T3200?

I have a Craftsman T3200 (917-203911). I'm reading up on lots of problems with the RS800 transmission. Mine is already doing the thing where it 'sticks' in either forward or reverse and won't go back to neutral. It looks like this is fix But this will be a PITA because Craftsman put the gas...

I have a 917-203911 with that same transmission and similar problems. It looks like these may help or

    Dual charging system overcharging

I have no help, but I'm also eating a battery every year or two in my similar B&S 44R677-0019G1 in my Husqvarna built Craftsman. Will monitor this thread to see if you figure something out.

Time for a new starter on my 724cc B&S?

Briggs and Stratton 724cc, 22HP driving a Craftsman 917-203911 (aka T3200) Model: 44R677, Type 0019G1 Pinion gear will not engage the flywheel. The starter itself spins very quickly, but the gear doesn't move up properly. It did this a few months ago - I started by checking battery and...
