You should be aware that old gas is one of the first problems that happens to an engine.Its also one of the easiest to remedy,every couple of months pour it in your fairly full vehicle.Use only ethanol free gas and it will go a whole lot smoother

If the blade spins when you pull the rope,thats not correct.The clutch mechanism is faulty,most likely stuck.As you are aware,its a two step,two button ,to get the blades to engage.Thats what you were describing with hard pull,you were trying to start the motor with all the blade drive systems...

Always run an air cooled engine full throttle.Its designed to pull maximum air ,your really doing more harm by less throttle. Its also a good idea to keep the clippings off and around the engine and transaxle.

With all the big names doing battery lawn machines and Honda getting out of the gas powered,they have them in the market in England and Australia, why not in the good old U.S.A?

And most problems result of over tightening or bad tools used.I'm a fan of never seize,brass plugs,good tools including short ratchets,and having extra plugs,if it comes out difficult,inspect your tooling,and replace it and the plugs.Heat sets the fittings for possible problems next time.Good...
