I'm in the process of building a garage. It has my back and side yard in a mess. After the backhoe work is done in going to sow grass but I'm wondering if I would be better off to kill my existing grass... A mixture of Bermuda grass and other types... And start it over fresh. Any opinions on...

I know very little about lawn care other than to just keep it mowed. Much of my front lawn rarely greens up any time of the year. I'd like to fix this but I'm unsure where to start. I'm unsure of the type of grass but I have taken pics so maybe you can help me identify it and what I should do to...
