Slomo, thank you for your response. In this video he talks about not being able to extend the frame. I am not sure if I have the same problem he had but all he said about it was "I had to fix that". My question is HOW? I am not a mechanic. I can usually take things apart and put them back...

I have an older snapper rear engine riding mower with a loose belt. It has a frame tube for extending the frame to tighten the belt. I cannot figure out how to get leverage to extend the frame to tighten the belt. I would appreciate any suggestion.
