When going through everything, I installed one of those red fuel filters in the new fuel line. Could that be the problem?

There is a fuel cutoff valve. Fuel was running out of the new fuel line pretty well, but I'll check it out.

Reset the governor.....Never heard of that! How do I do it? There is no more surging, but it will still only run right on 3/4 choke.

Thank you - Yes - That is the replacement I used. Still will only run good on 3/4 choke. No surging anymore.

Picked up a Simplicity Broadmoor 1692416 free from the neighbor. Has spark and fuel. Turning the key does not turn over the mower. If I jump hot side of battery to hot lead on starter it will turn over and produce spark but won't start. Am I on the right track to be looking at the solenoid...

Thank you, Rivets. Battery tests good. I tried to jump the solenoid with jumper wire, still nothing. Starter?

All connections are clean and secure. Wire from solenoid to starter was loose at the solenoid. Battery new. Only a clunk from the solenoid when key turned to start position. No sound or movement from the starter.
