The battery keeps draing only when I try to start the mower then recharges a little bit when not trying to start it and all it does is click one time and then nothing I don't think it's the starter. I need help. What's wrong.

I have a simplicity 12 ltg lawnmower and it has been sitting in my garage for 5 years and I finally got it out and the battery was dead so I replaced it and cleaned the spark plug and changed the gas but it sometimes tries to start cranks over then dies like 5 seconds after I got it to start one...
