    Cub Cadet with steering wheel

I spent 5 minutes explaining my Cub zero to my 6 year old grandson, me sitting on it and then him sitting on it. Cranked it and set speed control on low and he took off. I had him follow me as I walked all directions and circles in our open and flat yard. He doesn't mow, just drives. My wife...

    No start issue

Best thing to do with your batteries at the end of the season is to make sure they are fully charged and put them on a trickle charger all winter. I've gotten as much as 5+ years out of the Wallyworld batteries.

    Double Pulley belt

My son's Craftsman mower DLS 3500 hydrostat had a 20 HP B&S intek that throwed a rod through the block. I replaced it with a B&S 17.5 engine that I had. The deck belt pulleys are the same size. The transmission pulley on new motor is smaller than old pulley so the slack in belt won't turn...

Craftsman engine swap with double pulley

    Transmission has little power

I once had a Tractor Supply Husky mower that if I didn't use the factory brand drive belt, it wouldn't pull a hill at all. Cheap belts worked on deck, but tranny belt HAD to be factory belt.

    Southern clay soil. ugh.

Tennessee has a University of Tennessee extension service for agriculture in nearly every county. Maybe Kentucky has the same. I'm sure any college that has an ag program could do soil tests. Check your Co-op stores.

    Southern clay soil. ugh.

You will have to enrich the soil with some sort of compost to break the clay down. Cotton gins or sawmills will have an abundance of rotten cotton hulls or seeds and sawmills will have piles of rotten sawdust. Each will either give it away or sell it at a reasonable price. Tip the loader...

    Replace needle and seat??

Tits on a Boar hog ARE useful. The more tits on him, the better chance the female offspring will have more tits, which equals a better chance of feeding a large litter. We raised hogs when I was growing up.

    Shredding belts after replacing spindles

I don't really care what you think about me. Those that come here to try and figure out their problem can be so frustrated that they don't think about that at first. A simple polite note asking would be a lot nicer. And yes, I've seen it many times they don't post the ID numbers, but don't...

    Shredding belts after replacing spindles

Come on man, don't be so cruel. Did you talk to your students this way when they were trying to learn?

B&S 20 HP Intek barely turns over

Finally was able to get to the shop and finish the job. Parts came in and everything fell back in place like a charm. Got engine back on mower and it fired right up. All that's left now is deck belt put on, motor shroud and hood. Thanks to all for your advice and encouragment.

B&S 20 HP Intek barely turns over

Got the mower to my house today and got the engine off. Tore it down and sure nuff, pieces of the ACR was in the bottom. Got it cleaned up and old gaskets cleaned off. Waiting for the parts to put back together.

B&S 20 HP Intek barely turns over

Looks like I'm going to have to. Just tried everything again. No movement on the intake valve so I'm sure it's the ACR. Forgot my feeler gauges and had to drive back home to get them. The mower is my sons. Going to check valve lash one more time to be certain then start pulling engine...

B&S 20 HP Intek barely turns over

I checked for the bump the last time I had it down and I never saw it. Guess that's what it is. Wish the compression release was like the old Harleys where you just twist the clutch side hand grip, kick it to a start, then twist it back closed. I watched my brother get kicked over the handle...

B&S 20 HP Intek barely turns over

Briggs 20 hp intek model 31P977 Type D635 E1. This engine is on a Craftsman 46" rider. Engine barely turns over. Take out the plug and spins fast. Good battery. I jumped straight to starter and still slow. Adjusted valves, same thing. Here's the funny part. With the engine cover off and...
