Called my Toro Dealer & my New Scag Dealer & asked about the Kawi engines. They both had similar answers, stating more mower brands are wanting the Kawi engines & the demand has surpassed the supply, for certain engines. That's my 02 anyhow.

Seems a friend in GA was trying to get a Scag with Kawasaki power, he waited a month & the dealer finally told ,they are having trouble getting Kawi engines at this time. Anyhow, wondering if anyone else has heard of this ? TIA..

I only use 100% gas in any of my lawn equipment, & I never drain them at season end either. I do add a dose of Seafoam to the 100% gas & run everything to get the mix well thru the systems. Sta-bil has a shelf life to it, good to mark the date opened on the bottle after opening. It used to...

If mounted properly to the blower housing, as I have done. It is simple to remove blower housing with 1 hose clamp needing loosening as you would anyhow. Then whole works lifts off & it still looks stock on the machine. .

I've been called pretty fussy about my place as well.

Add an extra 1/2 lb air to the low side., Till you can get it properly adjusted.

I have a chinese carb on my vintage Honda mini-tiller. (Tiller was being thrown out by neighbor. I snagged it, w /his permission.) carb works good, but a lil rich, & I see nowhere to adjust to lean it out. Anyway for $9 shipped with new fuel lines, I shouldn't kick too much, I only use it 1...

So how are you liking your New LZ ? I find that I needed to add a rubber mat on floor board to block the holes, as cutting does push thru some dust. But otherwise it is a mean cutter.

Interesting, I was told by my Dealer that for the newest 2021 it was removed. Maybe some still came with the bottle, it sounds like.

Congrats- For 2021 Scag did away with the shared expansion reservoir bottle. They should have explained that to you at the Dealers. Next to the top fill caps is a kinda filter looking fitting, on each pump. All is normal. my 2021 LZ is exactly the same. Call your Dealer to confirm.

Purge the pump & see if that helps. It shouldn't need it for that, but maybe some air got trapped.

Plan to convert my New Kawi as well, maybe after warranty (3 yrs) But I run the FS air filter & foam pre-filter for now.

Well my thread has gotten some new legs. I can report my Toro FR/FX converted Kawi engine is still running good as new on my Toro.

Bert- That is good info. & Very true about filters & on Ebay now is some dude selling FX Air filter kits for FR & FS. The design is laughable.

He only stated, if modified in any way other than by a Licensed Dealer, (cause they make $0.) it is considered tampering with the emissions. Which is BS. But they will sell the foam pre-filter. And instead of a sock, I used to use womens sheer stockings, cut to fit. Used to be you could...

The FX models have 2 bbl carbs, & FR & FS have 1 bbl carbs. So I don't see an issue. But that's me. I was told @ the Dealer when I got my new Kawasaki, if I did that conversion. My engine warranty would be VOID. Guess he really did not need to know that.. LOL

2 ways to interperate that, imo. I would say the pump is under load when you are not pulling the trigger.

In my New Kawasaki, I only run the K-Tech semi-syn 20w-50, because of warranty.

I have stated in previous emails, I do use Seafoam. But not in the crankcase. That should be pretty clear, at least on my end anyhow.

I currently have two 651V engines. & to take it from 21.5hp to 23hp is a carb mod. Yes Bore & storke are same for 651V & 730V.

Start ups are when most engine wear occurs, so a good multi-grade oil will circulate much faster than a mono-grade. That's just a fact.

I get it, it is considered tampering with emissions. I'm gonna go hide now.

Here in deep South, Kawasaki sent a bulletin to their Dealers to run their Semi-syn 20w-50. Because of the intense heat.

Price is like $12. per gallon.

Have them add stacks with flapper rain caps.. Those are cool.

IDK about that wiggle room ? But my Cousin up North has a Hustler Raptor SD 48" & he still loves it, bought it new in 2015.

I don't use Seafoam in my oil, but I swear by it for use in my gas tanks, w/100% gas for over winter storage. . It even freed up an old air gun I forgot about & it froze up. Added a bit of seafoam & let it sit a couple days & the air gun slowly started working again.

IDK, around here getting new mowers in for Dealers is getting to be a challenge. For some reason, they can't seem to get new stock. That said: there may be a narrow market for good used riders. Not gonna get rich, that's for sure. But might make a few bucks. Just my .02.
