Drives no problems. Forward and backwards and shifts with no issues. But as soon as I pull the plunger (red or black knob for blades to engage) the mower dies. That switch is also brand new that engages the blades

Have the craftsman’s 917.272011 riding mower. Runs like a champ. Clutch stop spending and was bound up. Ordered a new one online. Installed and still not working.
I have done the following. Test the wire with the pull switch for continuity and also voltage. When pulling the knob...
No sorry, when the motor running, and wether the clutch is in or out and then I pull engage knob out the motor dies.
And this is also with the deck belt disconnected
Back at it.
So I can either have the seat plugged in or disconnected a jumper, start the motor and it dies.
I also have the drive belt for the deck still disconnected.
i also disconnected the electric clutch wires. With the clutch pressed in or out , i pull the engage for the blades and kills...
So the clutch harness is bypassed and so seems to be the seat as well, cause I don’t have to be on it to start.
So I removed the deck belt from the bottom of the motor, pulled the engage knob up by the steering wheel and kills the motor.
