Recommendation for new 0 turn mower

I bought a Sacg Liberty Z 61" almost 5 years ago. Have 4.6 acres, now about 3 acres, all field, no 'turf'. Could not be happier, HOWEVER... my smaller trailer is 59 3/4" between the rails :( I do not regret my purchase at all, have had zero issues with it. But, I will have to put a temporary...

Lawn mower battery charging help needed

I got a NOCO Genius 1 when I needed a charger and had AGM batteries. It has adapters you can leave hooked up to small engines or larger vehicles and comes with clamp leads. Seems to be the only one I need to cycle battery charging. I also own LiIon start pack, but only have had to use it once.

Convert GAS Briggs V-Twin to DIESEL?

I am a fan of propane as autogas fuel. Curious about your oil change interval statement, if it comes out looking clean and not smelling burnt (assumption). How are you know the oil needs changed at same intervals? Is there any data from oil sample tests (Blackstone Labs, or similar) that prove...

    Poulan Pro PR241 Snow Thrower

Are you using (or able to) non-wthanol fuel? Thankfully we have it readily available at pump in certain places in MO.

    Poulan Pro PR241 Snow Thrower

YouTube can be your friend for carb removal/cleaning/replacement. Could be a simple as water in fuel or car bowl, plugged (or even partially) orifice in carb from debris in fuel, critter in fuel line or carb, depending on age you could have a swollen/plugged fuel line. Perhaps it could be the...

Good value torque wrenches without breaking the bank?

For cost and accuracy the digital adapters (specifically HFT Quinn & AC Delco) seem to be the best deals. There is also another YouTube channel Torque Test Channel with some very good tests and info. FWIW After watching 4-5 testing episodes on both, I grabbed and AC Delco digital adapter and...

Good value torque wrenches without breaking the bank?

My recommendation is to grab a digital adapter for your needs. Decent videos on YouTube from at least two different testers that showed AC Delco and Quinn to be quite accurate and very affordable. I own HF 1/2" ft/lb clicker, 3/8" Craftsman in/lb clicker, old Craftsman beam style and just...

Best value SCAG for my situation?

Good luck, congrats on a great deal. I know Grasshoppers to be great machines. I hear the short wheelbase makes them pretty bouncy, I do hope it works out for you perfectly. Please keep us updated on your status.

Best value SCAG for my situation?

It is rough in spots to be sure and is not what I'd call comfortable, everywhere. But I can get it done in two hours. The bouncing is more from the vole structures (some reference them as moles) than leftover horse hoof pits. It can get so bad on the bouncing I will have to come to a complete...

Best value SCAG for my situation?

I have very similar with 4.6 acres of ex-horse pasture. Agree with you, I have the Liberty Z 61" for 4 years now, haven't regretted it for a moment, paid about $6k for year end sale. I am glad I bought a Scag, it is built solid and tough, I don't worry about anything. I bought aftermarket...

    Tire pops off the rim

Thanks Big-Rich, cogent reasoning for sure. My query was mostly about the advice given, not your decision. It was just what popped into my head at start of discussion. I hope you'll update the thread after use and if anything changes, I am curious to know how this goes and if you ever find root...

    Tire pops off the rim

My thinking on this may be off, but without concrete knowledge of exactly why the bead is popping off; with a tube is there not a risk of the bead popping off and shearing the tube valve stem?

Looking for a problem free 42" Zero Turn Mower

I agree, I think you could not go wrong with a Grasshopper.

Looking for a problem free 42" Zero Turn Mower

I can only speak from research, on this forum and personal experience. I have about 3.5 acres of field that I mow, not really turf. It is very rough in some parts. I bought a Scag Liberty Z and could not be happier with my purchase. Thing is built like a tank, has been thoughtfully put together...
