Briggs 6.75 Series not starting...

Hello everyone! I'm currently working on a briggs and stratton 6.75 series that and I can not get this thing to start and I'm stumped.
So far I have, checked the flywheel key( Good), adjusted the valves, replaced head gasket, i have spark confirmed with a tester and visual inspection. Plug is new gapped to .030
Also I've checked the air gap for the ignition coil. I haven't put the gas tank back on yet but I'm checking with starting fluid and just tried a little gas under the plug. I occasionally get a pop but nothing more. I haven't compression tested, don't have a guage but..... am I missing anything. Makes no sense
 
my 6.75 has a plastic lobe cam, and the lobes are known to spin sometimes on the main shaft. Have you checked valve clearances and timing?
 
Let’s break the problem down.
1. You are sure you have spark, but is it at the correct time? You wrote you checked the key?
How did you check the key? Did you fully remove the flywheel?

2. Fuel. You wrote you used starter fluid. That usually works for me. It should pop off if you have spark at the correct time and compression.

3. You must have adequate compression. You wrote you do not have a gauge. I believe there is a test to spin the flywheel backwards and it should kick back?? I have put my thumb over the spark plug hole and tried to start it. I believe if it’ll push your thumb off its is good?? I usually use a gauge.

You wrote you replaced the head gasket. Others wrote there might possibly be an issue with the camshaft. Some were plastic.

You must have fuel, compression, and spark at the correct time for your engine to run.

Please let us know your findings?

I did a visual inspection of the key and looks good. This isn't on a mower is a push weed eater. I did not fully remove the flywheel.
 
I would appreciate your removing the flywheel please. I have found the key looks okay until you remove the flywheel.

If you’re getting an inconsistent firing the spark timing gets my focus.

I understand this is a push mower?
