hi guys, i have a cub cadet LT 42'' XT1 enduro series and about 5 yrs old, my last mow last season it decided to just cut out in reverse mow mode, it seemed ok ok in forward, could it be that its just the battery or could it be something more sinister, thanks

So to get things clear
Normally the mow in reverse bypass switch would allow you to mow when going backwards .
Now it is not working and when you set the MIR to mow backwards the engine cuts out .
Is that is what is happening .
When you have nothing to go on but the words on a screen it can be difficult to understand exactly what is happening .

yeah, what you say is about right, its like the battery dies, had to jump it to start it after it cut out, but it only cuts out in MIR

Need the model number from the serial number tag so we can pull the wiring schematics. Also have you recently changed the ignition switch or seat switch?

Bought a 2006 deere for gal pal, mowed in reverse in spite of switch preventing same. Pulled switch out of panel and previous owner had jumped contacts, eliminating same from circuit. Removed jumper and now one must hold switch down to avoid shut down whilst reverse mowing. Just the way I want it for mechanically challenged and/or drunk operators. Get a new switch for your mower or jumper the contacts

With out the requested info being provided most things posted are just guesses. Cub Cadet (MTD) uses three different systems that I know of and must know which of three that is being used here. Apparently the OP isn't really interested in fixing the problem so I am stepping out of this thread.
