had this mower several year--does anyone know what operates auto choke? no signs of thermostat thing on exhaust no sign of air vane --- this has always run perfect untill i was shaking wet grass of blades and it stalled and refused to start---i assumed i shook something in carb loose --i bought a new one ---it will start 1st pull if i hold choke or use starter fluid--and will run perfect till its runs out of gas ---i just can't figure out the auto choke--190cc

Need Briggs model #. Eg: 126M02. Near spark plug - maybe on OHV cover.

Auto-Choke thermostat is located behind the muffler. Goggle “Briggs Auto-Choke system” for videos on how it works, how to adjust and how to replace.

According to the model you posted it should have one, unless someone removed it. Did you purchase the unit new? Can you find and post the engine numbers? I’d like to see if the engine was swapped out.

I've seen the 120k02 on sears part site on many different engines. I think it's a generic # they use to hide the engine. Sears is slimy that way.
