One of the nice things about the web is you can be as annonimus as you want.
I regularly google me and come up with ......................................................nothing
And that is exactly the way I like it.
The credit card that I rarely use is corperate with a name on it that is not mine.
I do not use a signature line on any posts on any platform.
Not having an over inflated opinion of my own self importance I do not have a face book, twitter, ewe toob, linked in or any other anti-social media account.
You can, with a bit of luck be quite private and while I have little to hide I do not want every thing I do, say, buy or think known to those who would use it to their advantage.
I used to wonder about forged credit cards and then when we got company ones the bank continually sent out invitations to add more cards to the account.
Just for the joke of it I applied for an extra card in an obviously fictious name and it came in the mail, no questions asked.
Since that day I have been using the card with the fictious name on it and was amazed just how much information about what you buy on a credit card is bought & sold because the fictious person gets around 3 letters a week.
Offers to buy a fuel credit card, buy a car, get loans of various kinds, special wine deals, buy phones, save money on all sorts of stuff from electricity through the healthcare.
The creepiest one was a mob who wanted me to subscribe to a toilet roll programme where they install a "special" dunny roll holder that counts the amount of dunny roll you use then automatically orders 3 more when are on your last roll
So we got another fake ID card for SWMBO who never used it for 3 years but we collected all of the stuff that arrived addressed to her fictious name.
In that period she had a tea chest full of "offers".
